The brief before the pitch

We publish the employer's brief first and the sales talk never. If a role does not suit you after reading it, that is the page doing its job.

Reader questions

Five answers before you commit anything

Why publish the brief at all?01

Because most people can tell within a paragraph whether a job suits them, and hiding that behind a form wastes everybody's afternoon. Publishing it means the applications we do get are from people who read the thing.

Can I apply for more than one brief?02

You can, though we would rather you named a first preference. HR will tell you honestly if a second brief is a better match for the hours you gave us.

What if my availability changes later?03

Message the same HR contact. Rosters here get adjusted regularly and no one treats it as a problem — the whole arrangement is built around people whose weeks move.

Is any of this on camera?04

No. All four published briefs are written work carried out in a browser. There is no video component, no recorded calls and no screen monitoring.

How is the rate confirmed?05

In writing by the employer before your first block, and it matches the range in the brief. Nothing is deducted at our end because we are not in the payment chain at all.

The operation

Where our part of it ends

CedarHyre is a listings desk on the Fleurieu Peninsula. We take briefs from employers looking for home-based help, confirm the business is real, publish the brief, and introduce applicants. That is the extent of it. Rates, rosters, supervision and payroll all belong to the employer, and nothing in the process involves you paying anybody.

Name the brief and the hours

A short form, then WhatsApp. Payment details, passwords and bank information play no part in this process at any stage.

Form not yet connectedThe form for this desk is still being connected. Message HR on WhatsApp and they will send it across to you.

One message decides how fast this moves

A submitted form joins a list. A WhatsApp message reaches HR while they are reading, which is a different thing entirely.
